MISSION:

David and Renae have both loved photography since they were in high school.

David carried his camera to every event along with Renae for their 20+ years of marriage.

One of Renae's fondest memories is the day her niece brought a friend over for the day.

Renae shared several portrait albums and videos of her niece and nephews that lasted all day.

When the friend was saying good-bye there were tears in her eyes as she commented: "Mrs Stiff, I don't have anything like this of myself."  To which Renae replied: "That's because you did not have an Aunt Nae."

To say photography/portrait art is our passion is an understatement.  Even after 40 years behind the lens we still devour education, training, practice, art, posing, color, lighting and the list goes on and on.  We are always pushing for mastery, perfection and excellence.

Now, one of our most favorite days through our portrait process is unveiling day - which often involve tears by our studio guests.

BIOGRAPHY:

David Stiff’s photography journey didn’t start when he went professional. It started back at the First Baptist Church in Dallas, when David was a boy looking through a viewfinder.

David Stiff was born in Dallas, Texas and spent most of his adolescent years raised in the Buckner’s Children’s Home. At the age of 13 he was one of five other television camera operators (and only one of two adolescents) for the First Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas. Young David experienced the opportunity of a lifetime under the guidance and mentoring of Mr. Richard Gatton.  Mr. Gatton, who was Head of Master Control at Channel 8 for 35 years, took David under his wing. David learned the ropes from the “expert” regarding the operation of television cameras, technical directing, lighting and audio.  At that time church service for the First Baptist Church of Dallas broad-castings were syndicated world-wide.  During his high school years, David was a photographer for the annual and newsletter at Justin F. Kimball High School. David has spent the last six years video recording and broadcasting church services at his church.

The mentor-ship of Mr. Gatton and photography assignments in high school sparked a love for photography that David has been nurturing for a few decades.

David has received over thirty awards from the Dallas Camera Club, and recognition from the Gulf States Camera Club Council.  David has been a guest speaker for the Lockheed Martin Camera Club, the Cleburne Camera Club and the Cowtown Camera Club.  David is a member of the Professional Photographers of America, the Dallas Professional Photographers Association, and the Dallas Camera Club.

David Stiff Photography specializes in family settings, high school seniors, pets and children. David photographs from the heart, breaking most of the “rules” of photography.

We are a husband and wife team bringing you the best of photography as we see it.  David's wife, Renae, serves as his helpmate on the business side.  With 25+ years in business administration, we strive to exceed your expectations!  Together we offer an awesome punch of passion and art.   It's great to be able to work within your God given abilities.   We are thankful for the opportunity.
